Pinjore Kalka Urban Complex

Main Highlights of the new township, which falls in Panchkula district:

  • A total of 31 sectors will be developed
  • 6 sectors to be developed in first phase
  • Three of these six sectors will be located near Pinjore town; the rest will be close to the Himshikha colony.
  • Over 25,000 plots of various sizes
  • The plan has approved by state government
  • Approval sought by the land acquisition department from the Urban Estate Department for issuing notices under Section 4
  • Spread over an area of over 11,000 acres (Panchkula presently is only 4,700 acres)
  • From Pinjore Aviation Club near Baddi, the township will nearly touch Parwanoo.
  • Commercial, institutional and industrial estates to be included in plan
Four-laning of Zirakpur - Shimla National Highway (NH- 22), between Zirakpur and Parwanoo, will begin by November2006; this 29. 8 km. stretch, will include a bypass to the towns of Parwanoo, Kalka and Pinjore. Four-laning of the Parwanoo - Shimla highway has been put on the backburner as of now.

Baddi, which is situated near the proposed Pinjore Kalka Complex, has attracted over 75 per cent of the Rs 10,000 crore invested in Himachal Pradesh in the last two years. These are just some of the prominent names in Indian industry, which have invested in Baddi Industrial township:

Wockhardt, Vardhman, Sara Textiles, Cadburys, Super Cassettes Industries, Baidyanath, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Titan, Godrej, Cadilla, Wipro, Hindustan Lever Ltd., Deepak Spinners, Unichem Labs, Nicolas Piramal, Johnson and Johnson, Dabur India Ltd., Morepen, Torrent, Bajaj, Cipla and Ranbaxy

TVS, Nestle, Lupen Pharma and Hero Honda are also coming soon.

An Export Promotion Industrial Park has also been set up in this Industrial Township to promote exports.

Chandigarh-Baddi road has been proposed via Siswan. This would reduce the commuting distance by nearly 22 kilometres. We can expect the road to be ready in around an year.
